Backend Engineer - Business systems expert
What does your next step sound like?
About us
Soundtrack is a B2B scale-up company providing music streaming services for businesses. We serve small customers like the café around the corner, and much bigger brands like Joe & the Juice, Toni & Guy and TAG Heuer. On the inside, we're a bunch of talented, motivated and humble designers, engineers and music experts. We believe in product-led growth, where the product is the primary driver of customer acquisition, conversion and expansion.
The Role
We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Revenue Engineering team.
The team is responsible for our core backend, subscription management and integrations to business support systems. You’ll work on a wide range of projects — from distributed systems and data pipelines to integrations with finance and CRM systems — in close collaboration with web developers, designers and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services needed to realise our product roadmap
- Improve, evolve and replace existing services and APIs
- Ensure our systems remain performant, reliable and cost efficient
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Help the team grow by sharing knowledge and lifting each other up
About You
We believe that great engineers come from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
You're someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoying the process of solving problems as part of a team. With a curious and open mindset, you're always eager to learn, explore new ideas, and embrace challenges.
You know how to prioritise and adapt in a fast-moving setting while keeping sight of the bigger picture. Open communication is important to you, and you feel comfortable both giving and receiving constructive feedback in a supportive and respectful way.
You’re a backend engineer who enjoys bridging product, data and business systems. You take pride in writing reliable code, but also in understanding how your work impacts billing, reporting and real customers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building backend services with Go and/or Scala, working with GraphQL and REST, and shipping data to or working with BigQuery
- 1+ years hands-on experience with NetSuite (configuration, data mapping or integrations using REST, SuiteTalk or SuiteScript)
- 1+ years of stakeholder collaboration with finance teams (internal ERP users) and operations/RevOps teams (internal CRM users)
Beneficial Requirements
- Experience integrating systems like Shopify, Adyen or other similar platforms
- Background in ERP or business systems development (as a consultant or internal developer)
- Interest in financial systems, billing, and subscription management
- Experience working in an international SaaS company
Employee Benefits
- We offer a flexible workplace with the possibility to work remotely
- Generous pension plan
- Yearly budget for health, wellness and personal development
- Laptop and mobile phone of your choice with included cellular subscription
- Regular social activities such as team events, meet ups, after works and off-sites
- Daily breakfast served at the office
