Email Marketing Manager
What does your next step sound like?
About us
Soundtrack is a B2B scale-up company providing music streaming services for businesses. We serve small customers like the café around the corner, and much bigger brands like Joe & the Juice, Toni & Guy and TAG Heuer. On the inside, we're a bunch of talented, motivated and humble designers, engineers and music experts. We believe in product-led growth, where the product is the primary driver of customer acquisition, conversion and expansion.
The Role
As Email Marketing Manager you’ll be working with email and marketing automation via Hubspot and Intercom (or new future tools) to target new and existing users at various lifecycle stages. We’re looking for a hands-on problem solver that is skilled in both creative and technical execution and constantly evaluates what new technology and tools offer. This role reports to the Director of Digital Marketing in Marketing, but has lateral reporting to other departments like Growth, Sales, and Support.
You’ll primarily launch email campaigns to achieve success in 3 key areas:
- Lead nurturing and MQL qualification
- Trial onboarding and conversion to paying
- Customer engagement and retention
You’ll be the first in this role at Soundtrack, so there is a need for hands-on execution in everything from strategy, to copywriting, and building campaigns. Our email and lifecycle marketing efforts are in a "startup" phase, which means you should be comfortable wearing different hats to execute quickly and efficiently.
As a part of a mature PLG company, you’ll have access to robust customer data, cross-functional teams, and best-in-class tools. You’ll have all the ingredients to make an impact and lead our expansion into lifecycle marketing as we grow.
You can check out our website to see what kind of messaging and features you will be promoting. Also download our app to sign up for a free trial and get a first hand experience of our product.
Responsibilities
- Be the go-to email marketing voice within the company.
- Together with the team, develop data-driven email marketing strategies focused on qualified lead generation, product adoption, retention and expansion, that bridge PLG and sales-assisted channels.
- Write, deploy, and test compelling content and subject lines with personalization using customer data.
- Implement automated onboarding flows for trial users, guiding them to key "a-ha!" moments and driving their conversion into paying customers.
- Implement automated email nurturing series for inbound sales leads, qualifying them to Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) for the sales team.
- Work with our Analytics team to continuously A/B test, track key metrics (like trial conversion rates, activation rates, etc.) and use data to optimize campaigns.
- Work together with the team on exploration and evaluation of new email marketing or communication platforms, while optimizing existing tools to best support today.
- Evaluate and integrate 3rd party data enrichment tools (ex: Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo) to improve the relevance and performance of our email marketing automations.
- Contribute to the company's vision, strategy and agenda.
About You
Just like us, you love music. You're driven and entrepreneurial, but you know how to be a team player too. Regardless of roles, we're always looking to work with people who can adapt to constant change, prioritise what's important, stay humble, open, curious and with a passion for details.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in email marketing, CRM marketing or lifecycle marketing. Ideally at a fast growing startup.
- Proficient in working data-first with everything from goal setting, tracking, testing, evaluation, and execution (i.e. reporting dashboards, A/B testing, personalisation).
- Experience in designing and executing lifecycle email campaigns that drive key business metrics (e.g., lead qualification, activation, conversion, retention).
- Strong email copywriting skills to produce content that is ready to be deployed.
- Expert on CRM and marketing automation tooling and can quickly learn and adapt new tools and technologies.
- Strong AI acumen.
